flight

My entry for the OST Composing Jam #4. After planning the piece on the piano (a little) I grinded out the song and cover art within about 10 hours overnight. The theme of the jam was "runaway" and the song was inspired by the "fight or flight" response, in which "flight" means to run away. 

The game this might be for tells a story about a bird person (or.. something.. aarakocra?) who flees from his home. The track is meant to play when the character attempts to fly away. The melancholic section in the middle could be part of a dialogue sequence, and the sections that build up can indicate tension as the enemy draws closer to the character. The last chord signifies the end of the level, as the character takes flight (as the chord kind of floats on air.)
